Role Purpose
Beech Hall School is seeking a caring and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our Enhanced Learning Team. You’ll support students with a range of SEND needs, including Autism, ADHD and Dyslexia, helping them build confidence, independence and achieve success.
More than a classroom support role, this position is about developing trusted relationships, empowering students to thrive, and providing personalised support that makes a lasting difference.
As an LSA, you’ll work closely with teachers, the SENDCo, parents and external professionals to deliver targeted support in the classroom, in small groups and on a one-to-one basis, helping students achieve their full potential.
What you will be doing
- Supporting students with SEND both in the classroom and through targeted interventions.
- Acting as a key worker for identified students, helping to track progress and provide consistent support.
- Delivering small group and one-to-one programmes as directed by the SENDCo.
- Creating and maintaining student profiles, learning resources, and support plans.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to secure the best outcomes.
- Supporting students’ social, emotional, and pastoral development.
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to review meetings where required.
- Promoting a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students.
What you will bring
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics required
- A strong understanding of how positive relationships can help students succeed.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to motivate, encourage, and inspire students.
Good ICT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
- Relevant NVQ3 or equivalent or a number of years of relevant experience desirable
- First Aid qualification or willingness to take such a qualification desriable
- Understanding of the current provision for children with special educational needs and currentdevelopments in SEN desirable
