Prospero Teaching are seeking a supportive Functional Skills Maths Tutor to deliver 1:1 tuition to a learner in Chester.

The ideal candidate will be confident breaking down mathematical concepts and creating practical, accessible sessions for learners who may have gaps in their education.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver personalised Functional Skills Maths sessions
• Focus tuition around individual targets
• Strengthen core numeracy skills
• Adapt explanations and activities to learner ability
• Help develop confidence with Maths
• Encourage independent learning
• Monitor and report on progress

Requirements

• Previous Maths teaching or tutoring experience
• Functional Skills experience desirable
• Strong numeracy and communication skills
• Experience supporting learners with varied abilities
• Patient and encouraging teaching style
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
• Right to Work in the UK
• Two professional child-related references
