Pay: £10.00 – £13.00 per hour (well above standard apprenticeship rates!)

Contract: Full-Time | 11-Month Programme

Are you looking to launch a career in special educational needs (SEN) support with paid, hands‑on experience and a fully funded qualification?

Engage Education is recruiting an Apprentice SEN Teaching Assistant to join the thriving SEN team at a vibrant, large SEN School.

This is a dedicated 11‑month apprenticeship programme. We are seeking a reliable, motivated individual who is fully committed to signing the learning agreement and completing the full 11‑month journey to gain their Level 3 qualification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with additional needs (including Autism, ADHD, communication needs, and physical/learning difficulties)
  • Assist pupils with tailored learning activities, speech & language targets, and sensory breaks
  • Support children’s social, emotional, and physical development in a safe, nurturing environment
  • Assist class teachers and the SENCo with resource preparation and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Help encourage positive behaviour and promote independence in classroom activities

Requirements:

  • Commitment: Strong dedication to completing the full 11-month learning agreement and apprenticeship course
  • Mindset: Patient, nurturing, reliable, and passionate about supporting children with SEN
  • Academics: GCSE Maths & English Grade C/4+ (or equivalent) preferred
  • Eligibility: Not currently enrolled in another government-funded course
