Salary: £35,602 (M1)–£54,328 (UPS3) per annum, London Fringe pay scale
Salary depends on experience and pay scale position, with the maximum applicable to candidates with substantial teaching experience.
Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
About the Role:
A secondary school in Borehamwood is seeking an enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join its established Mathematics department. You will work within a modern learning environment alongside supportive colleagues who value collaboration and positive relationships.
Teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, you will help pupils build confidence, strengthen mathematical reasoning and develop problem‑solving skills. Through clear explanations and carefully planned activities, you will make abstract concepts accessible while challenging pupils of different abilities.
This Maths Teacher role suits someone with strong subject knowledge, high expectations and a commitment to helping every pupil make progress.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent qualification recognised for teaching in England
- Experience teaching Mathematics across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Strong knowledge of the secondary Mathematics curriculum and assessment
- Experience planning lessons for pupils with different abilities
- The right to work in the UK
- Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check and relevant safeguarding checks
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Assess progress and use feedback to inform teaching
- Adapt explanations and activities to support and challenge pupils
- Develop confidence, problem‑solving skills and mathematical reasoning
- Maintain a purposeful classroom with clear expectations
- Share ideas with colleagues and contribute to wider school life
