Your new role
As Behaviour Support Officer, you will support the effective implementation of the school’s Behaviour Policy, ensuring students understand expectations, boundaries and consequences.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the daily running of the Reflection Room.
- Supporting students whose behaviour is affecting their learning or the learning of others.
- Delivering targeted behaviour interventions and restorative conversations.
- Monitoring behaviour trends and maintaining accurate records.
- Coordinating detentions and behaviour-related sanctions.
- Working closely with pastoral leaders, teaching staff and parents to improve student outcomes.
- Maintaining a visible presence around the school and reinforcing high standards at all times.
What you’ll need to succeed
The successful candidate will:
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be confident, authoritative and able to maintain high expectations.
- Be organised, proactive and calm under pressure.
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills.
- Build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
- Have a good understanding of student welfare, safeguarding and behaviour support.
- Be committed to helping young people succeed both academically and personally.
Experience working in a secondary school environment would be advantageous.
