The Senior Manager, IT Support, Infrastructure and Cyber Security will play a key role developing our IT function and ensuring it keeps pace with the needs of the charity. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will make sure that our internal IT systems and processes enable colleagues to collaborate effectively and do their best work. You will be accountable for organisation-wide cyber security, including formulating and implementing business continuity and disaster recovery plans, and compliance with local regulation in the markets we operate, specifically NIST CSF 2.0 in the US and Cyber Essentials Plus in the UK. You will take the lead in identifying and delivering improvements across the IT function that enable it and the whole organisation. You will lead a talented team of IT professionals, who you will coach and develop to provide outstanding business partnership and help drive forward our mission. You will be skilled in managing change processes and building organisation-wide support. You will be an effective negotiator and used to managing a wide portfolio of operational contracts and projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop the service offering and capability of the IT support function at the Foundation
- Ensure that the Foundation has all necessary IT and business systems in place to deliver its objectives.
- Own the cyber security strategy, with regular audits and testing
- Own the Global IT Policy and ensure it is up to date and in line with current legislation and best practice.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve the range of IT tools and business systems as the organisation’s priorities develop
- Oversee and maintain robust IT infrastructure and cybersecurity frameworks, ensuring continuous alignment with NIST CSF 2.0, Cyber Essentials Plus, and emerging AI security standards.
- Contribute to the organisation’s data strategies, including next steps in our data infrastructure, integration, and analysis
- Responsible for the procurement of services, contract management and liaising with third party suppliers
- Oversee IT onboarding and training
- Keep up to date with developments in relevant legislation, including data protection
- Develop and manage the IT annual budget and plans
- Coach, develop and manage the performance of the team.
- Experience managing and developing IT services and systems, including SaaS solutions
- Demonstrated success overseeing multi-site and international IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalable operations
- Strong understanding of information and cyber security, ideally including one or all of Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO 27001 or NIST CSF 2.0
- A focus on user experience and demonstrable ability to interpret business requirements in order to successfully deliver IT and business system improvement projects
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the capacity to adapt your communication style to different stakeholder audiences and to liaise with external partners
- Experience managing budgets
- Experience leading a team, coaching and developing people and managing performance through giving and receiving feedback
- Strong understanding of GDPR and other regulatory frameworks
- Experience of working in an International organisation
- Experience using a range of systems including G Suite and Salesforce
- Experience of procurement and contract management
- Familiarity with business intelligence and visualisation tools
