Context
Cothill is a leading co-educational prep school which prepares children for some of the foremost senior schools in the country, including Eton, Downe House, Harrow, Oundle, Radley, Winchester and others. We are looking for an Assistant Head of Operations to help run this small but dynamic school and to join us as soon as possible. This role is twofold: to work in close support to the Head of Operations in ensuring the smooth running of the day to day operational management of the school, responding to the broad administrative, accounting and resource-management requirements, with Line Management responsibility for a team of 15 domestic assistants who are key to maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the school, to include training and assisting with recruitment and appraisals and occasional support for hospitality events.

This is a varied and rewarding position for a highly organised, proactive professional who enjoys balancing finance, administration, HR support, transport coordination and operational problem-solving. Usual working hours will be 8:30am-4:30pm Monday – Friday. This is a year-round role with 33 days’ holiday (including bank holidays). Where a bank holiday falls on a day the school is open, this is treated as a normal working day. It may be necessary, in order to fulfil the requirements of the role, for some out of hours work to be undertaken, for which mutually agreed time off in lieu will be given. Salary will be commensurate with your experience.
