We are looking for anexperienced Construction Manager with a strong background in conveyor installation projects, to lead the delivery of construction and industrial/material-handling installations.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can take ownership of site delivery, have stakeholder responsibility, coordinate multiple trades and subcontractors, and ensure projects are completedsafely and within budget.
The Role:The Construction Leader will be accountable for the day-to-day construction delivery and operational performance of projects across the clients portfolio, acting as the Principal Contractor’s operational representativeon assigned sites. You will ensure full compliance with Construction Plans, RAMS, Permit-to Work systems and airport operational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate construction and installation activities across multiple airport projects.
- Manage operational resource deployment and workforce utilisation.
- Lead construction reviews covering design, permits, materials, logistics, labour and stakeholder approvals.
- Support mobilisation, execution, commissioning and handover activities.
- Chair weekly construction coordination meetings and escalation forums.
- Support monthly programme reviews, project boards and KPI reporting.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance and drive corrective actions.
- Lead operational readiness reviews before major construction activities.
- Ensure compliance with Heathrow and airport governance requirements.
Qualifications
- SMSTS.
- NEBOSH General Certificate.
- CSCS Black Management Card.
- Higher Level Technical Qualification.
- Project Management qualification desirable.
- Extensive background in leading construction/installation teams on large projects.
- Experience operating within live airport environments.
- Strong understanding of project lifecycle from pre-construction through handover.
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations and Principal Contractor obligations.
- Managing multi-disciplinary teams and airport stakeholders.
- Experience implementing continuous improvement.
