Business Development Representative (BDR) Competitive Salary Hybrid
MCS are delighted to be working with a Fintech company who are looking for an experienced Business Development Representative (BDR) to join the growing team. The successful candidate will be a commercially driven sales professional with 4-5 years of BDR experience, ideally within the FinTech or financial services sector.
The BDR will be responsible for identifying and engaging prospective customers, generating qualified opportunities and working closely with the sales team to build a strong pipeline of new business.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and research target accounts and key decision-makers within prospective customers.
- Generate new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, including email, phone and LinkedIn.
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads and convert them into qualified sales opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects throughout the early stages of the sales cycle.
- Work closely with Account Executives and the wider sales team to ensure a smooth handover of qualified opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date activity, prospect and pipeline information within HubSpot.
- Use data and reporting to monitor outreach activity, conversion rates and pipeline generation.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues using Slack and other sales and communication tools.
- Stay informed on FinTech market trends, customer challenges and competitor activity.
- Consistently meet or exceed agreed activity and qualified-opportunity targets.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 4-5 years’ experience in a BDR, SDR or Business Development role.
- Proven experience within FinTech, financial services, payments, banking, SaaS or a related technology environment.
- A strong track record in outbound prospecting and lead generation.
- Hands-on experience using HubSpot CRM.
- Previous experience using Slack within a collaborative sales environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
- A structured, organised and data-driven approach to sales development.
- Strong research and time-management skills.
- A proactive, resilient and commercially focused mindset.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a wider sales team.
