We are looking to recruit a Yard Maintenance Operative to join our team in Lisburn. This role combines core yard maintenance responsibilities with essential driving duties to support our transport and fleet operations. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the McCulla team.
The Person
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking individual who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised working environment. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to carry out a range of manual and driving duties are key to succeeding in this role. Yard maintenance involves keeping outdoor operational areas clean, safe, and efficient, alongside assisting our fleet team with driving duties and vehicle presentations.
Key Responsibilities
- Vehicle & Trailer Duties:
Transporting trailers for PSV / MOT testing and scheduled maintenance.
- Shunting trailers and moving fleet vehicles around the yard as required.
- Trailer and equipment cleaning.
- Yard Maintenance & Upkeep:
General cleaning and maintenance of all yard areas.
- Litter picking and waste management.
- Grass cutting, groundskeeping, and weeding.
- Power washing and hosing surfaces.
- Keeping walkways, emergency exits, and vehicle routes clear of obstructions and hazards.
- Identifying and reporting hazards or safety issues to management.
About The Role
Essential Criteria
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) HGV Licence with up-to-date Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Experience in operating C+E vehicles and handling trailers safely.
- High attention to detail and awareness of workplace health & safety practices.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Good time management, teamwork, and reliability.
- Physical fitness to undertake manual maintenance tasks.
Desirable Criteria
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift License.
Terms & Conditions
- Location: 5 Altona Road, Blaris Industrial Estate, Lisburn, BT27 5QB.
- Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent.
- Rate of Pay: £17.00 per hour.
- Working Hours: Monday Friday, 8:00am 5:00pm (1 hour lunch). Weekend overtime available if required.
