A leading engineering and manufacturing organisation based in the Carrickmacross area is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This well-established business designs and manufactures bespoke equipment for customers across a range of industrial sectors and continues to invest heavily in innovation, technology and product is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer looking to work on varied and technically challenging projects within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
Your New RoleAs an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of electrical control systems for bespoke machinery and equipment. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will support projects from concept through to commissioning.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Electrical design and schematic creation using industry-standard software
- Specification and selection of electrical components and control systems
- PLC and HMI integration support
- Preparation of technical documentation, BOMs and wiring schedules
- Supporting manufacturing, installation and commissioning activities
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant safety and industry standards
- Collaborating with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders throughout project delivery
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Degree or HND qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related disciplineExperience in electrical design within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of control panels, PLC systems and industrial automation
- Ability to produce electrical schematics and technical documentation
- Strong problem-solving and communication skillsExperience working on bespoke machinery or capital equipment projects would be advantageous
