Your new role As a Corporate & Support Services Officer, you will provide high-quality administrative and clerical support within a fast-paced office environment. Duties will include preparing reports, correspondence, presentations and management information, maintaining accurate records and databases, processing documentation and data, responding to customer and stakeholder queries, organising meetings and taking minutes, and supporting compliance with organisational policies and procedures. You may also provide financial administration support, including maintaining records, processing payments and assisting with data analysis. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure efficient service delivery and adherence to regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include :
- Provide advice and guidance on relevant policies, legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare reports, presentations, correspondence and management information for senior review.
- Manage and respond to stakeholder queries, ensuring compliance with legislative and policy frameworks.
- Maintain accurate records, databases and information systems, escalating issues where required.
- Support departmental procurement activities, ensuring value for money.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Organise meetings, coordinate agendas and take accurate minutes and action notes.
- Deliver a range of business support functions using initiative and sound judgement.
- Assist with the review and monitoring of policies, procedures and service improvements.
- Provide financial and administrative support, including record keeping, data analysis and reporting.
- Ensure effective records management, confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
- Monitor workload progress, meeting agreed deadlines and quality standards.
- Contribute to personal and professional development while adhering to Council policies and procedures.
- Undertake other duties appropriate to the level of the post.
What you’ll need to succeed
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs to include English Language and Maths (Grade C or above) or equivalent qualifications to demonstrate literacy and numeracy
2 years’ experience in a busy office environment to include at least 4 of the following:*Maintaining filing systems and records*Note/Minute taking* Diary management* Ability to deal effectively with competing demands by prioritising work tasks* Managing emails* Dealing with and responding to internal and external customer queries.* Use of Microsoft packages* Use of financial accounting software* Processing, managing or calculating paymentsYou will possess excellent communication and organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while managing a varied workload. Knowledge of data protection requirements and experience handling confidential information would be advantageous. A driving licence and access to transport, or an alternative means of meeting travel requirements, will also be required.What you’ll get in return
- Hourly rate of £16.90 per hour
- Full-time hours, Monday to Friday (37 hours per week)
- Location of role is to be determined, but it could be across the Mid and East Antrim Borough
