About Fenton & Our Vision

Fenton’s mission is to revolutionize the +5bn European fine jewellery sector through transparency, accountability and honesty. Our clients are at the heart of everything we do (just check our 600+ 5* Trustpilot reviews!), and we offer them the ability to customise their jewellery on our website, with each coloured gemstone or lab-grown Diamond responsibly-sourced from a network of exceptional dealers in countries with highly-regulated mining standards. Our team is based between London and India, allowing us the best of both worlds in all aspects of what we do.

In 2021, Fenton was the 3rd fine jewellery company awarded B Corp Status, and the only one operating at meaningful scale. To find out more about what this means for Fenton, have a look at our B Corp Promise.

About the role and what you will be doing:

This is a part-time, on-site position based in central Manchester for a Fine Jewellery Sales Consultant, sitting within our integral Concierge team and dedicated to delivering a best-in-class, customer-centric experience.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced jewellery sales professional to take ownership of Fenton’s Manchester client experience. As the primary Fenton representative in the North of England, you will manage client appointments, enquiries and the day-to-day running of the Manchester showroom, working with a high level of independence.

You will guide clients through some of life’s most important milestones, including engagements, weddings and anniversaries, helping them select or design jewellery that reflects their individual style and story. The successful candidate will need to be highly organised, commercially minded and confident making decisions independently, with a genuine passion for fine jewellery and luxury customer service.

While you will largely operate independently, you will be supported by the wider Fenton team. Your manager will travel to Manchester regularly to work alongside you, while weekly one-to-one catch-ups will provide an opportunity to review KPIs, client feedback and operational matters, and ensure you feel supported.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Own the Manchester client experience, acting as the primary Fenton representative in the North and delivering the same exceptional service clients receive at our London showroom.
  • Respond to customer enquiries across email, live chat, phone, WhatsApp and other channels, delivering excellent service throughout the customer journey.
  • Host one-to-one appointments in the Manchester showroom, as well as online through virtual video calls, providing expert diamond, gemstone and jewellery advice.
  • Manage the Manchester appointment diary and ensure the showroom is prepared to the highest standard for every client.
  • Take ownership of the day-to-day Manchester operation, including showroom presentation, stock management, client communications and administration.
  • Achieve individual and team sales targets, contributing to Fenton’s growth in the North of England.
  • Build and nurture long-term client relationships through proactive clienteling, appointment follow-ups and aftercare.
  • Support clients through bespoke and made-to-order designs, accurately capturing requirements and managing expectations around timelines and gemstone sourcing.
  • Handle customer queries, repairs and aftercare requests with professionalism and empathy.
  • Ensure all products are handled and presented in accordance with Fenton’s security and brand standards.
  • Work closely with the London and wider Concierge teams to ensure a seamless client experience across locations.
  • Uphold Fenton’s luxury brand image through consistently high standards of personal presentation and professional conduct.
  • Support the wider day-to-day and longer-term needs of the business with a flexible and can-do mindset.

What we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a customer-facing sales role, ideally within fine jewellery, jewellery or another luxury retail environment.
  • Strong jewellery knowledge, including diamonds, coloured gemstones, precious metals and jewellery manufacturing processes.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a proven ability to deliver against sales targets.
  • Exceptional written and spoken English, with excellent communication skills across email, phone, WhatsApp and face-to-face interactions.
  • Highly responsible and trustworthy, with the ability to take ownership and work independently without constant supervision.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated and proactive, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to multitask effectively and remain calm under pressure when managing multiple clients and enquiries.
  • A genuine passion for fine jewellery, luxury and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • A natural ability to build rapport and establish trusted, long-term client relationships.
  • Comfortable working in a digital-first environment using tools such as Shopify, Google Workspace and other online communication and CRM systems.
  • Comfortable being the sole Fenton team member on-site for the majority of your working days, while knowing when to seek support or escalate an issue.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to London for training, team days or other business requirements.
  • The working schedule will be flexible depending on appointments, events and business needs. Rota can be worked around your availability, but 20-28 hours will be required monthly.
  • Work authorisation in the UK required.

As a company, we are striving to create a team that is diverse, digital-first and loves to take on new challenges at a fast pace!

Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • Holiday calculated pro-rata and from agreed working schedule
  • Private health insurance and mandatory pension contributions
  • Employee discounts on Fenton jewellery
  • Monthly manicure allowance
  • One-off uniform allowance
