Are you an experienced HR professional with a strong recruitment background looking to join an established Talent Acquisition and HR team? NES Fircroft is supporting the search for a HR Generalist / HR Advisor to support a major infrastructure client across a range of high-profile engineering and infrastructure projects.
Our client is an international Tier 1 contractor with an annual turnover exceeding $9 billion, delivering some of the UK’s most high-profile infrastructure projects. They are looking for a well-rounded HR professional, ideally with experience within infrastructure, construction, industrial, engineering, manufacturing, utilities or another operational environment.
This is a varied role combining recruitment, onboarding, workforce management and employee relations. Approximately 40% of the role will focus on recruitment and onboarding, with the remaining 60% focused on workforce management, employee relations and wider HR operations.
In this HR Generalist / HR Advisor role, your key responsibilities will involve:
- Managing the full recruitment lifecycle from vacancy briefing through to onboarding
- Partnering with hiring managers and operational teams to understand recruitment and workforce requirements
- Sourcing, screening and shortlisting candidates across a range of technical and operational roles
- Coordinating interviews, reference checks, offers and onboarding
- Advising managers on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance and performance cases
- Supporting workforce planning, HR reporting and wider workforce management activities
- Providing support with payroll and other HR operational processes
- Building strong relationships with employees, managers and key stakeholders across the project
To be successful in this position, you will need:
- Proven experience in a HR Generalist, HR Advisor or HR/TA role
- Strong end-to-end recruitment and onboarding experience
- Experience supporting employee relations and wider HR operations
- Ideally, experience within infrastructure, construction, engineering, manufacturing, industrial, utilities or another operational environment
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple vacancies, employee matters and priorities simultaneously
- A collaborative, hands-on approach with a strong focus on delivering a positive employee and candidate experience
