Community Database Administrator

Company: Cogora
Apply for the Community Database Administrator
Location: London
Job Description:

Our Community Data Administrator will be responsible for the quality, coverage, depth and development of Cogora’s HCP community. The role will ensure we have a high-quality, accurate, comprehensive, current, relevant and growing audience that meets the needs of the business and our clients.

They will develop a detailed understanding of Cogora’s HCP data and the wider addressable HCP market, identifying where we have strong coverage, where gaps exist and what actions we can take to address them. They will use first- and third-party data, market intelligence and behavioural and engagement data to understand the composition and health of our community and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

This is a highly analytical role for someone who loves working with data, numbers and solving problems. They will interrogate datasets, spot patterns and anomalies, assess data quality and freshness, identify gaps and translate findings into clear actions.

Working closely with teams across Cogora, they will help source and evaluate new data, improve HCP profiling and segmentation, strengthen our understanding of audience engagement and ensure our HCP community becomes increasingly accurate, complete, current and commercially valuable.

Key responsibilities:

Data Quality:

Take ownership of the overall health of Cogora’s HCP database, including accuracy, completeness, recency, duplication, consistency, consent and compliance. Establish clear definitions and standards for data quality and regularly measure the database against them, including agreed definitions for active HCPs, inactive HCPs, dormant records, complete profiles and verified HCPs. Identify data quality issues and work with relevant teams to implement solutions and continually improve the reliability of our data.

Data Coverage:

Build a detailed understanding of Cogora’s coverage of the HCP market and identify gaps by profession, specialty, geography, seniority and other relevant characteristics. Develop clear, data-led plans to address priority audience gaps and measure the impact of actions taken.

Data Enrichment:

Identify opportunities to enhance existing HCP records with additional data points and attributes, improving the completeness and depth of our profiles. Determine which additional attributes would provide the greatest audience, editorial and commercial value and identify appropriate sources for obtaining them.

Data Freshness & Engagement:

Assess HCP recency and frequency of interaction with Cogora, developing a consistent engagement score using behavioural signals across the business. Use engagement data to understand the active audience and identify opportunities to increase engagement.

Audience Re-engagement & Cleansing:

Identify inactive, ageing, duplicate, incomplete or low-confidence records. Work with relevant teams to determine appropriate approaches for re-engagement, verification, consolidation, suppression or removal. Monitor the effectiveness of re-engagement and cleansing activity and use the findings to continually improve our approach.

Segmentation & Audience Insight:

Develop meaningful HCP segments based on profession, specialty, geography, seniority, demographics, behaviour, engagement, recency and other relevant characteristics. Analyse these segments to identify patterns, opportunities and changes in audience behaviour. Translate complex data into clear insights that can be understood and acted upon by teams across the business.

Data Acquisition & Gap Closure:

Research and evaluate new first- and third-party data sources that could strengthen Cogora’s HCP community. Assess potential sources based on quality, coverage, accuracy, recency, compliance, cost and likely incremental value. Develop data-led recommendations for acquiring or generating data to address identified audience gaps and measure whether those interventions successfully improve coverage.

Commercial Audience Analysis:

Work closely with our commercial teams to understand current and emerging client audience requirements. Translate these requirements into data needs and assess Cogora’s ability to reach relevant HCP audiences. Identify areas where strengthening our data could create new commercial opportunities or improve our existing audience proposition.

Reporting:

Develop and maintain reporting on the health and development of Cogora’s HCP community. Monitor key metrics including database size, net growth, coverage, completeness, duplication, freshness, active and inactive audiences, engagement and enrichment. Move beyond simply reporting numbers by identifying what the data tells us, highlighting emerging issues and opportunities and making clear recommendations for action.

Internal expertise:

Become Cogora’s internal authority on our HCP community. Develop a comprehensive understanding of what data we hold, where it comes from, how reliable and current it is, how our audiences engage with Cogora, where gaps exist and what opportunities there are to improve the data. Support teams across the business with questions about HCP audience size, composition, coverage and engagement.

We’re looking for someone who is naturally curious and genuinely enjoys working with data. You’ll have a highly analytical mind, an exceptional eye for detail and a tendency to ask ‘why’ and ‘what does this tell us?’ rather than simply accepting the numbers at face value. You’ll enjoy getting into the detail of datasets, spotting patterns and inconsistencies and solving problems. You’ll be organised, methodical and comfortable working with large volumes of data, but equally able to step back and see the bigger picture.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who lives and breathes data – excited by numbers, curious about what they can tell us and always looking for ways to make our data better and more current.
