A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join an established award-winning injury claims specialists based in Huddersfield, as my client is looking to expand their team and are recruiting for a Legal Assistant.
This role is ideal for someone looking to take their first step into the legal sector – whether you’re a recent law graduate, have studied law, have experience in claims or have worked within customer service, or are simply looking to build a long-term career within personal injury law.
You’ll gain valuable experience working within a legal environment, developing your understanding of the personal injury claims process, client interaction, claim assessment and legal protocols, while working alongside experienced Fee Earners.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is ambitious, motivated and keen to develop their career within law.
What will you be doing?
- Handling new claim enquiries from clients via telephone
- Conducting inbound and outbound calls with prospective and existing clients
- Gathering accurate information about the client and their potential claim
- Assessing the potential merits and viability of claims
- Identifying the most appropriate protocol and process to begin a claim
- Accurately recording and updating client and claim information on the case management system
- Communicating with clients professionally and empathetically throughout the initial stages of their claim
- Providing an excellent level of client service
- Supporting Fee Earners with a variety of tasks
- Developing your knowledge and understanding of personal injury law and claims processes
What are we looking for?
- A genuine interest in law and developing a career within the legal sector
- A law degree, legal studies qualification or previous experience within claims/legal services would be advantageous, but is not essential
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs, including Maths and English
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Confidence speaking with clients over the telephone
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately record information
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, client-focused environment
- A professional, empathetic and positive approach
- Previous personal injury or claims experience is desirable, but full training will be provided
