A highly regarded specialist criminal law firm is seeking an experienced Criminal Duty Solicitor to join its established team in Hounslow, West London.

The Role
As a Criminal Duty Solicitor, you will be responsible for:
Representing clients detained at police stations.
Managing your own caseload of criminal defence matters across a broad range of offences.
Providing high-quality advice and representation to publicly funded clients.
Conducting advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court.
Working closely with colleagues to deliver an excellent standard of client care.
Managing deadlines and caseloads effectively while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
About You
We are looking for a solicitor who has:
At least 1 year’s PQE in criminal defence.
Criminal Duty Solicitor accreditation is preferred but not essential; candidates without accreditation will be supported in obtaining it.
Strong advocacy and communication skills.
Experience representing clients at police stations and in the Magistrates’ Court.
Excellent organisational and case-management skills.
Confidence working independently while contributing positively to a team.
Good IT skills and experience using case-management systems.
The ability to manage a demanding caseload and work effectively under pressure.
A pragmatic, professional and positive approach.
A genuine commitment to publicly funded criminal defence work.
Excellent client-care and relationship-building skills.
