A UK B2B SaaS business is looking for an Interim CFO following a recent investment. The business has £40m of revenue and has just taken investment from a mid-market private equity house. The product is well established in the UK market, revenue is predominantly recurring, and the sponsor has a clear value creation plan built around organic growth, international expansion and bolt-on acquisitions.
The role
Your first priority is reporting the investment committee can rely on: a monthly board pack, ARR, NRR and cohort data that stands up to scrutiny, and a forecast that drives decisions rather than explaining variances after the fact. You’ll own the relationship with the lenders and the covenant position, lead the finance workstream on bolt-ons from diligence through integration, and bring the statutory accounts and management reporting into line with what the sponsor expects. You’ll also assess the existing finance team, strengthen it where needed, and help the board hire your permanent successor, leaving a function strong enough to hand over.
What we’re looking for
You’ve held the CFO seat in at least two PE-backed SaaS businesses with revenue above £20m, and you’ve been through the first year of a sponsor’s ownership before, ideally more than once. You know what a value creation plan looks like from the inside, what the sponsor expects to see in month one, and how to build credibility with a deal team quickly. You’re comfortable at board level and equally comfortable rebuilding the model yourself when it needs doing.
