Maintenance Engineer – Mechanical

Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Engineer with a specialization in Mechanical Engineering to join their operational team in Queenstown . This critical role ensures the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of all mechanical equipment and systems within the facility. You will be responsible for developing and implementing preventative maintenance strategies, diagnosing and resolving equipment failures, and leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. This hands‑on position offers the chance to work with a variety of industrial machinery and contribute significantly to the smooth running of the plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive preventative and predictive maintenance schedules for mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical failures, minimizing downtime and production impact.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of new mechanical systems and machinery.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components.
• Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and implement reliability improvements.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and environmental policies during all maintenance activities.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial maintenance or mechanical engineering roles.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
• Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Excellent diagnostic, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
