Battery Design Engineer

ARCA is supporting an aerospace programme to bring in an experienced Battery Design Engineer on a contract basis.

This is a hands-on role within the Battery team, focused on detailed mechanical design and design ownership across high-performance battery pack assemblies.

The work:

• Detailed mechanical design and development of battery pack assemblies
• Design of housings, enclosures and internal battery components
• Injection-moulded components, sheet metal, cast parts and sealing
• Packaging and integration of HV components
• Designing with consideration for creepage & clearance, busbars and electrical bolted joints
• Supporting designs from concept through to manufacture and assembly
• Working closely with electrical, manufacturing, analysis and wider engineering teams

What they’re looking for:

• Strong mechanical / product design experience within battery, EV, automotive, aerospace or another complex engineering environment
• Experience with injection moulding, sheet metal, cast components and sealing
• Good understanding of HV electrical considerations within mechanical design
• CATIA / 3DEXPERIENCE experience preferred

Details:

• Contract: 3 months initially – Outside IR35
• Location: Bristol – 2 days onsite per week
