Senior Risk & Compliance Lawyer

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Risk & Compliance Lawyer to join a leading City law firm in a senior, influential position.

Working closely with the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer as their deputy, you will provide strategic and practical advice to the firm’s partnership and senior leadership on a broad range of regulatory, professional conduct and risk management matters.

This is a high-profile appointment offering significant exposure across the firm and the opportunity to play an important role in shaping its approach to risk and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise partners and senior management on SRA regulation, professional conduct, conflicts of interest and confidentiality.
• Provide guidance on AML compliance, client due diligence and matter risk assessments.
• Support the management of professional indemnity insurance, claims and complaints.
• Advise on client engagement terms and regulatory obligations.
• Monitor regulatory developments and deliver training across the firm.
• Work closely with the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer on wider risk and compliance initiatives.

We are keen to speak with qualified lawyers who have:

• At least 6 years’ PQE, ideally including experience within a law firm’s internal risk and compliance function.
• Strong knowledge of SRA regulation, AML and professional conduct.
• Experience providing commercially focused advice to partners and senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to navigate complex regulatory matters.
• Experience in professional indemnity, claims handling or data privacy would be advantageous.
