The Opportunity
This is a genuinely high-impact role. The business is on a mission to bring together data from across its multi-product estate into a unified, governed platform, unlocking smarter analytics, deeper customer insights, and a foundation for AI-driven development.
As Data Architect, you will own how that data is structured, connected, and governed across the organisation. It’s a role with strong visibility, real strategic ownership, and the chance to shape how data is used at scale for years to come.
Key Responsibilities
- Author and maintain the canonical data model across a multi-product estate, covering logical and physical modelling, entity relationships, slowly changing dimensions, and tenant isolation patterns
- Define data contracts with product teams and own the data dictionary, naming standards, and reference data governance
- Lead master data management including entity resolution, golden records, and cross-product joins at scale
- Define data domains, ownership boundaries, and clear data ownership and governance that works across a product-led structure
- Design the semantic and query layer for analysts, products, customers, and AI agents, setting standards across cataloguing, lineage, data quality, access control, and PII handling
- Define the Lakehouse target architecture covering storage, table format, query engine, ingestion, and metadata standards
- Set patterns for multi-tenant isolation and row and column-level security
- Define streaming and batch ingestion architecture, building on existing investments in NATS JetStream, Apache Flink, and Debezium CDC patterns
- Partner with senior stakeholders to ensure architecture delivers against the product roadmap
- Establish architecture review forums and set the standard as the data team continues to grow
About You
- 8+ years in data or information architecture within a multi-product SaaS environment
- Deep expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling, master data management, and domain-oriented governance
- Strong track record of reconciling divergent source systems into unified canonical models
- Solid grounding in Lakehouse architecture trade-offs including table formats, query engines, and ingestion patterns
- Hands-on experience with Dremio, Snowflake, or Databricks
- Hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Glue, Athena, or Lake Formation
- Experience with NATS, Apache Kafka, and CDC patterns such as Debezium
- Stream processing experience using Apache Flink, Spark Structured Streaming, or equivalent
- Strong SQL skills and experience with query optimisation at scale
- Familiarity with data and table formats including Parquet, Avro, Apache Iceberg, and Delta Lake
- Ability to communicate architecture decisions clearly across engineering, product, and executive audiences
