Safety Engineer
to support continued growth across safety-critical programmes in
Civil Nuclear, Defence Facilities and Energy Storage .The roleYou’ll lead and deliver a range of projects, from early scoping through to detailed design and commissioning, ensuring safety-critical requirements are met to the right standard, safely and efficiently.This role suits someone comfortable operating at lead consultant level, managing technical delivery and client interfaces.Role responsibilities:Lead projects end-to-end (concept ? commissioning), managing delivery, timelines and budgetsSpecify, design and assess control, instrumentation and safety systems in safety-critical environmentsApply safety assessment and hazard analysis techniques including HAZOP, LOPA, SIL determination, FMEA, FTAProduce / review / verify / approve technical documentation (reports, specifications, design documentation)Own client-facing delivery: define requirements, agree scope, manage risks, provide progress reportingSupport innovation work – taking new systems/tech from concept through to acceptanceThe ideal candidate:Strong practical knowledge of process control systems and EC&I deliverables (P&IDs, SLDs, BCDs, schematics)Experience delivering safety-critical work to industry standards (EC 61508 / IEC 61511 / ISO 13849 / DO-178 / DO-254 etc)Experience working to ISO 9001 quality standardsStrong written communication + confident client engagement and report writingSC cleared or clearableNuclear industry experience desirableDue to the nature of the work, applicants must be
