ABOUT THE CLIENT
Our client is delivering a major technology transformation programme within a secure UK Defence environment, shaping the architecture and integration of complex data and application platforms. This is an opportunity to influence future-state architecture while working across infrastructure, data, platforms and applications in a highly technical environment.
THE DATA & SOLUTION ARCHITECT ROLE:
As a Data & Solution Architect, your primary responsibility will be translating technical and business requirements into Information Exchange Requirements (IERs) that define the data feeds and integrations required for a range of project use cases.
You will also contribute to the overall solution architecture, helping to shape the future architecture vision and roadmap while supporting technical design decisions across infrastructure, data, platforms and applications.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Translating requirements into Information Exchange Requirements (IERs) for data feed integrations
- Shaping overall solution architecture and future-state architecture
- Contributing to architecture vision, principles and technology roadmaps
- Supporting technical design reviews through the Technical Design Authority
- Providing architectural input into infrastructure, data, platform and application decisions
- Designing and integrating enterprise data fabric solutions
- Supporting real-time data streaming, API-led connectivity and data integration
- Defining data movement and interoperability across platforms
- Providing input into container-based application architectures
- Supporting scalable, resilient and modern application delivery
- Contributing to Kubernetes and enterprise container platform architecture
- Supporting the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborating with engineering, infrastructure, data and application teams
- Providing technical challenge and guidance to ensure secure, scalable and resilient solutions
- Ensuring alignment with JSP453 and Architecture Policy
DATA & SOLUTION ARCHITECT ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Proven experience in Solution Architecture / Data Architecture
- Strong experience translating requirements into Information Exchange Requirements (IERs)
- Experience with enterprise data fabric architecture
- Strong understanding of data integration and interoperability
- Experience with real-time data streaming
- Strong understanding of API-led connectivity and integration
- Experience with data connectors and integration services
- Strong Kubernetes and enterprise container platform knowledge
- Experience with container-based application architectures
- Strong understanding of VMware / on-premises infrastructure
- Understanding of CI/CD architecture and implementation
- Experience contributing to technical design reviews and architectural governance
- Ability to work across infrastructure, data, platform and application teams
- Experience developing target-state architectures and technology roadmaps
- Understanding of secure, scalable and resilient enterprise architectures
- Knowledge of JSP453 and Architecture Policy
