Overview

As a Senior Desktop Engineer/Architect you will design, package, deploy and validate desktop trading applications in latency‑sensitive environments. You will work closely with traders, support teams and engineering leadership to ensure stable, high‑performance delivery across physical, virtual and remote desktops. You’ll build robust packaging and testing processes and drive improvements in latency, stability and integration with market data feeds. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to shape how traders access critical data and tools at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Package and deploy desktop apps using Intune, SCCM, MSI/InstallShield across physical, VDI, and RDS estates
  • Test and optimize for latency, multi‑monitor/4K, and GPU‑accelerated setups; troubleshoot stability
  • Support market‑data apps (Bloomberg, Reuters Eikon, ICE, CQG, proprietary) and integrate feeds with trading stacks
  • Collaborate with traders, support, infra and vendors; set expectations, surface risks, and drive decisions
  • Develop comprehensive documentation for packaging procedures, testing protocols, and troubleshooting guides

Key requirements

  • Extensive desktop engineering experience in financial services or trading environments
  • Expertise in packaging tools (SCCM, Intune, MSI, InstallShield or equivalents)
  • Strong understanding of market data apps (Bloomberg Terminal, Reuters Eikon, ICE, CQG) and their trading integration
  • Experience with trading platforms and real-time data feeds with focus on low latency
  • Proficiency in PC hardware troubleshooting and driver management across OS versions
  • Knowledge of Windows desktop environments (Windows 10/11), Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Familiarity with VDI and remote desktop protocols (Citrix HDX, Mechdyne TGX, Teradici PCoIP)
  • Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, VBScript, or Python) for automation
  • Strong problem‑solving and attention to detail in time‑sensitive trading contexts
