Process Engineer

Overview

In this role you will optimize production processes and formulations to ensure Right First Time quality and stable throughput. You will collaborate with R&D, maintenance, and operators to drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency. The position focuses on transforming process data into better recipes and compliant documentation, while coaching teams on best practices. This role offers impact through scalable process improvements in a large coatings business.

Responsibilities

• Make formulations available with optimized process parameters
• Update and adjust formulations per Group R&D requirements
• Coach production operators on daily process optimization
• Optimize recipes to stay competitive within regional/global R&D framework
• Provide technical support and collaborate with maintenance
• Monitor and address process and quality deviations
• Investigate product complaints
• Document local production process for operator training
• Provide training to relevant personnel
• Assess needs for process improvements
• Provide compliance documents for IOS MAT, REACH, ROHS, food contact, etc.

Key requirements

• Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and process optimization skills
• Experience driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and cost
• Ability to analyse production and quality data to improve process capability and reduce waste
• Knowledge of batch manufacturing processes and quality systems in paints, coatings, chemicals, or similar
• Effective stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
• Hands-on implementation of improvements on the factory floor
• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field
• Manufacturing experience in paints, coatings, chemicals, adhesives, inks, or similar
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and ISO 9001 knowledge desirable
