Overview

In this Maintenance Engineer role, you will join the Engineering team at Kerry’s Taste & Nutrition facility in Runcorn, supporting safe and efficient production. You’ll lead technical maintenance, drive downtime reduction, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. The role sits at the heart of sustaining equipment reliability within a safety‑focused culture. You’ll work closely with production and maintenance colleagues to deliver tangible improvements and keep our world‑leading nutrition business running smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full technical engineering support to the Production function
  • Comply with health and safety policy and regulations
  • Carry out risk assessments with relevant people and implement controls
  • Lock off dangerous machinery and repair/notify accordingly
  • Resolve breakdowns, perform PMs, and drive projects/improvement works to minimize downtime
  • Undertake PMs on offline machinery when time allows
  • Complete PM sheets with observations, jobs, and recommendations; file with Maintenance Planner
  • Gather fault information from production personnel to speed fault finding
  • Maintain engineering logs and computer systems with PM numbers, parts, plant numbers, and urgency
  • Communicate with external contacts professionally reflecting the company profile

Key requirements

  • Qualified multi-skilled engineer with mechanical and/or electrical expertise
  • Strong experience in manufacturing maintenance and equipment reliability
  • Excellent fault-finding, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Proven track record in PPM, breakdown reduction and continuous improvement
  • Collaborative, hands-on approach with the ability to support others
  • Experience with SAP is an advantage
