Overview
In this role you will support major construction projects across the South West region as a Quantity Surveyor within Galliford Try. You will manage valuations, cost control, and procurement, collaborating with site teams to protect profitability and deliver on time. The position offers exposure to Design and Build environments and governance under JCT/NEC contracts, with a strong emphasis on professional growth and wellbeing. You will work across multiple sites, contributing to the company’s ambitious project pipeline and sustainable practices.

Responsibilities
- Analyse tender allowances
- Measure and value works for valuations, variations and final accounts (on site and from drawings)
- Agree valuation dates and submit interim valuations
- Administer or advise on Main Contract and Subcontract conditions
- Subcontract and Design Procurement
- Subcontract payments, variations and final accounts
- Submit Cost Value Reconciliations
- Prepare cost to complete
- Cash management and cash flow/turnover forecasting
- Provide standard reports
- Internal Valuations/CVRs and subcontract liability reports per accounting deadlines
Key requirements
- Experience in the construction industry for a main contractor
- Knowledge of Design and Build
- Sound knowledge of JCT and NEC Conditions of Contract
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Degree qualified
- Member of RICS or IOB (or progressing towards)
