Vice President, Global Allocations

Overview

In this role, you will help design and operate Ares’ centralized investment allocation framework, collaborating with legal, compliance, and investment teams across multiple strategies. You will build governance, processes, and systems to optimize capital deployment and portfolio construction while aligning with firm-wide priorities. You’ll work with senior stakeholders across Credit, Private Equity, Real Assets, and Secondaries to manage constraints and ensure fund mandate adherence. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role at the intersection of investing, strategy, and portfolio management in London.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of governance frameworks, processes, and systems for centralized investment allocations
• Oversee EMEA allocations across Credit, Private Equity, Real Assets and Secondaries to ensure alignment with fund mandates and enterprise priorities
• Serve as subject matter expert on the Ares fund complex, advising on allocation decisions and policy considerations
• Conduct pre-trade allocation and compliance analysis including concentration limits and eligibility reviews
• Lead portfolio and allocation reviews to identify risks, constraints, and optimization opportunities
• Collaborate with Deal Teams, Portfolio Management, Compliance, Legal, Business Development, and Operations to ensure disciplined execution of allocations

Key requirements

• 5-7 years in investing, portfolio management, investment allocations, or portfolio compliance
• 10+ years of relevant industry experience
• Strong familiarity with credit and alternative investment structures (bank loans, credit agreements, indentures, LPAs, PPMs)
• Experience with alternative credit transactions (privately negotiated investments, bank debt, bonds, CLO equity)
• Strong analytical capabilities and ability to operate in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• High attention to detail, strong communication, and ability to manage multiple workstreams
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
