Overview

In this role you will join Murphy’s regional TRUe procurement team to secure subcontracts, materials and services for transport projects. You will protect the business by shaping contract terms, monitoring supply chain performance and supplier risk. You will drive value through strategic procurement and a consistent regional approach across projects. You will build strong internal and external relationships to support delivery of rail, bridge and highway works. This is a chance to influence procurement at scale on major transport infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure contract arrangements and package details are comprehensive and protect the business with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Monitor supply chain performance, workload and financial status
  • Maintain supplier evaluation forms and risk assessments
  • Lead work package procurement
  • Deliver a consistent procurement approach across regional projects from pre-construction to delivery
  • Aim for best value for money in procurement recommendations and negotiations
  • Input to market monitoring to track pricing trends, risks and opportunities
  • Continuously seek new supply chain members to meet regional demand
  • Support development of supply chain, products and innovations for cost/buildability benefits
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with strategic supply chain and promote mutual respect
  • Establish good relationships with internal clients and project teams
  • Attend regional supply chain events to promote Murphy and teamwork

Key requirements

  • Demonstrable experience of Subcontract buying
  • Knowledge of construction pre-construction to construction processes
  • Good understanding of strategic procurement practices
  • Knowledge of sustainability within procurement
  • Product and supplier knowledge relevant to the regional operating unit
  • Good working knowledge of contracts
  • Understanding of safety within procurement practices
