Overview
In this role you apply hydrogeology and water environment expertise to deliver multidisciplinary projects for minerals, waste, renewables, property and infrastructure sectors. You’ll lead technical delivery, support client relationships, and mentor junior staff within a collaborative Hydrology and Hydrogeology team. You will shape environmental statements, water management plans, site investigations, and licensing support, contributing to high-value guidance aligned with UK regulations. Responsibilities
- Deliver environmental impact assessments and coordinate Water Environment chapters
- Contribute to water management elements of construction environmental management plans and planning obligations
- Plan and execute site works including borehole monitoring and groundwater/surface water monitoring
- Support abstraction licensing and hydrogeological/risk assessments for landfills and groundwater discharges
- Manage project delivery elements such as proposals, risk, budgets, and deliverables quality
- Lead and direct projects within your specialist area and communicate with clients
- Provide workload instruction and mentorship to colleagues and junior staff
- Contribute to strategic direction and development of the team, enhancing capacity and capabilities
- Maintain awareness of technical innovation, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliant, high-value advice
Key requirements
- Experience delivering water environment/hydrogeological studies
- Awareness of best practices for sampling and environmental assessments
- Proficiency with GIS and modelling software for analysis
- Strong communication of technical concepts in reports and meetings
- Ability to work in teams and independently
- Full UK driving licence
- Working toward or holding Chartered status through UK/EU recognised body
- Knowledge of UK water-related legislation and regulation
