Overview

As a Project Engineer at the Nestlé Tutbury Factory, you will lead capital projects from concept through installation to handover, aligning with safety, quality and budget standards. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders, suppliers and cross-functional teams to drive safe, timely improvements in a high-volume FMCG environment. The role supports continuous improvement and Lean/TPM initiatives, contributing to a centre of excellence in coffee technology. This is a hands-on, impact-driven opportunity to shape site enhancements and project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Engage stakeholders and define designs meeting technical, quality and safety standards
  • Prepare business cases for CAPEX funding approvals
  • Coordinate installation activities, manage contractors and suppliers, and permit work
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders on progress, budget and timelines
  • Ensure safe, compliant handover of completed projects to enable timely use of improvements

Key requirements

  • Experience managing CAPEX projects
  • Experience in FMCG manufacturing environment (preferred)
  • Engineering background with URS and unit operation understanding
  • Knowledge of PUWER and CDM health and safety regulations
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration
  • Leadership: lead meetings, delegate tasks, proactive problem solving
  • Financial management: spend forecasting, tendering and purchasing equipment
