Overview

In this role you will support the senior supervisor and contract manager to keep highway works on track, focusing on safety, quality, and timely delivery. You will coordinate resources, oversee site programmes, and ensure compliant documentation for major schemes. The position involves close collaboration with clients and subcontractors to maintain high standards and smooth project flow. This is an opportunity to contribute to significant highway projects and frameworks from a London base, with impact across the South of England.

Responsibilities

  • Review workloads and assist in allocating resources for works
  • Support the quantity surveyor with estimating schemes as needed
  • Prepare Health and Safety plans, method statements, risk assessments, and site packs
  • Ensure full permits are in place before works commence
  • Create and update site-specific programmes
  • Raise and resolve technical queries and share information with the commercial team
  • Maintain liaison with client, employees, and subcontractors to keep works running smoothly
  • Order plant and materials to support the programme
  • Maintain highest levels of health and safety and workmanship
  • Monitor plant, labour, and materials records, including any work beyond the programme
  • Monitor timesheets and assist in monthly valuations and final accounts
  • Ensure timely and satisfactory completion of works (including snagging) and client liaison
  • Collate information for Health and Safety files or O&M manuals
  • Ensure works meet customer and company standards and clear site of plant/materials on completion
  • Undertake other duties and ad hoc projects as required
