Global IT Senior Director and Platform Team Lead – Gen AI Platforms and Agentic Development Kit

Overview

In this role, you will lead the core AI platform vision and execution for BCG’s Gen AI initiatives, guiding cross‑functional engineering teams to build scalable, safe, and enterprise‑grade AI infrastructure. You will shape the AI/agent development toolkit and orchestration layers, enabling multiple teams to adopt and scale GenAI capabilities. You’ll drive platform strategy, partner with cloud providers, and embed responsible AI standards across the stack. This is a high‑impact opportunity to influence how BCG delivers AI at scale for clients worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and execution for the Core AI/Intelligence Layer
• Own and evolve Gen AI platform vision including LLM orchestration, memory, and semantic layers
• Shape roadmap for Platform AI/Agent Development Kit (ADK)
• Lead Gen AI platform engineering teams and operating model
• Scale GenAI capabilities firm-wide across Core IT and business use cases
• Design scalable, secure, cloud-native platform components (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Define AI solution archetypes with reusable accelerators, SDKs, toolkits
• Govern platform-wide design decisions for safety, scalability, interoperability and responsible AI
• Cross-functional alignment with Data, Security, Capabilities Build, Infrastructure, and stakeholders
• Build and lead high-performing teams with emphasis on engineering excellence
• Own end-to-end delivery of platform capabilities and services
• Establish enterprise-grade AI observability frameworks for performance, safety, interpretability
• Enhance LLM Ops, Evaluation and Quality pipelines
• Ensure robust AIOps/DevSecOps,CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, automated delivery pipelines

Key requirements

• Over 15 years of engineering leadership, platform or product delivery experience in large enterprise
• At least 5 years in AI and Gen AI related experience
• 3+ years as Senior Director or equivalent in software/AI engineering
• Proven success leading multi-disciplinary teams (engineering, product, architecture, data)
• Evidence of innovation in building/operationalising AI/GenAI platforms
• Masters or Bachelor’s in AI/ Computer Science & Engineering or equivalent work experience
• Proven success architecting enterprise-scale AI platforms using modern AI-native/cloud-native stacks
• Deep experience with LLM-based systems, generative models, agent frameworks, and scalable AI/ML platforms
• Mastery of enterprise cloud stacks (AWS/GCP/Azure), vector DBs, Knowledge Graphs, contextual memory, distributed systems, MLOps/LLMOps, and infrastructure automation
