Overview

As a Project/Cost Controls Specialist at AECOM, you will drive cost control, forecasting and baseline governance across complex projects to inform timely decisions. You’ll integrate cost data within enterprise systems, build baselines from drawings and specs, and manage spend against budgets and funding limits. Your work supports earned value insights and project reviews across a global infrastructure portfolio. Responsibilities

  • Capture, structure and report cost data in project controls systems
  • Create and maintain project baselines from drawings and specifications
  • Track actuals vs budgets and funding limits; monitor POs, subcontracts and commitments
  • Apply earned value methods and integrate cost/schedule where relevant
  • Develop trend analyses, forecasting and quantify cost/schedule impacts
  • Prepare cost-related reports and technical specifications for reviews
  • Support invoice review/approval processes for contractors and suppliers
  • Contribute to scope control and change management by assessing cost impacts
  • Participate in cost review meetings and improve reporting procedures

Key requirements

  • Proficiency with enterprise financial/project systems
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles as applied to project cost management
  • Experience with earned value, cost/schedule integration and performance measurement
  • Ability to interpret drawings/specifications to establish cost baselines
  • Familiarity with Australian standards and governance in major projects
  • Exposure to scheduling concepts and interfaces between schedule, cost, commitments and funding
