Software Developer / Team Lead C# .Net

Overview

In this role you lead a squad within the Corporate Payments division while remaining hands-on in coding. You’ll own system architecture, API design and technical decisions, guiding delivery and production operations for an international payments platform. You’ll mentor engineers, promote best practices, and drive AI-enabled tooling across the development lifecycle. This is a hands-on leadership role at a global financial services company with a strong focus on modern tech and delivery impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead the squad across architecture, development, delivery and production operations
• Own system architecture, API design and technical decisions; conduct design reviews and ensure code quality
• Collaborate with Product Managers on roadmaps, delivery plans and priorities
• Mentor engineers through 1-2-1s and feedback; drive continuous improvement and standards
• Champion AI and agentic coding tools across the SDLC; drive process improvements
• Combine technical ownership with hands-on development to solve complex problems
• Lead from the front in a senior engineering capacity, shaping team growth and practices

Key requirements

• Strong experience providing technical and team leadership within a software engineering team
• Strong backend development skills with C# .Net (other OO languages considered)
• System design experience, particularly distributed systems and microservices
• Frontend experience with Vue.js, React or modern Angular
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases
• Production experience with AWS (SQS, DynamoDB, S3, ECS, Lambda)
• Experience owning CI/CD and release processes (e.g., GitHub Actions)
• Hands-on experience with Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot or similar AI tools; understanding of AI adoption in practice
• Collaborative, pragmatic communication; ability to explain technical decisions to engineers and business stakeholders
• Background in payments, FX or regulated industry beneficial
