Overview

In this role you lead a small, specialized team delivering mechanical production and test engineering support for the OEM business. You will bridge Operations, Manufacturing Partners, Design Engineering, Product Management and Project Management to resolve production issues, keep test methodologies robust, and ensure smooth new-product introductions. You drive practical engineering improvements, transform test practices, and scale test capabilities for production, engineering validation and field support. Your leadership shapes how we deliver reliable products to customers at pace.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small specialist team for mechanical production engineering and test engineering across the OEM portfolio
  • Oversee production, testing, repair, shipping and distribution activities to ensure timely delivery and customer outcomes
  • Serve as troubleshooting lead for production issues, field failures and customer escalations
  • Prioritize across multiple stakeholders and implement practical engineering improvements with minimal supervision
  • Overhaul legacy test-bed methodologies, implementing flexible, affordable solutions for production, engineering and field use
  • Own and continuously improve product test methodologies to be robust, repeatable, scalable
  • Reduce test cycle times and enhance production efficiency; enable field partners to run tests without specialist support
  • Develop, improve and sustain production test equipment, test rigs, calibrations and diagnostic processes
  • Collaborate with manufacturing partners to resolve issues, perform root cause analysis and drive sustained improvements
  • Participate in NPI activities ensuring manufacturability, testability, serviceability and readiness from the outset
  • Coordinate with repair, customer support, engineering and manufacturing teams to address field issues and customer concerns
  • Act as the technical liaison between Operations, partners, design engineering, product management and project management

Key requirements

  • Strong mechanical, production, manufacturing or test engineering background in an OEM or product-driven environment
  • Experience leading small to medium technical teams or site-based manufacturing teams
  • Hands-on problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve mechanical, production and test issues
  • Proven track record developing, improving or sustaining product test methods and test equipment
  • Experience collaborating with manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers or external suppliers
  • Experience supporting NPI, design transfer or production readiness with cross-functional teams
  • Strong root cause analysis and structured problem-solving capabilities
