In this role you will handle a varied caseload in professional indemnity disputes within a top-tier law firm. You’ll work closely with insurers and professional services clients, delivering timely advice and actions across litigation, advisory, and regulatory matters. The position emphasizes developing processes, supporting client relationships, and mentoring junior colleagues. Responsibilities

  • Defend liability claims pre- and post-litigation
  • Advise on regulatory issues, risk management and Ombudsman complaints
  • Handle policy coverage issues for insurers
  • Work on matters across a wide range of professions with large and small claim values
  • Deliver high-quality outputs in line with SLAs
  • Contribute to improving team processes and procedures
  • Capture and report management information for clients
  • Support business development initiatives and client relationship management
  • Coach and develop junior team members

Key requirements

  • 5+ years PQE in professional indemnity litigation
  • Insurance experience desirable but not essential
  • Strong knowledge of legal procedures and litigation processes
  • Ability to deliver legal and commercial solutions collaboratively
  • Proven track record of managing and developing client relationships
  • Commitment to business development and identifying commercial opportunities
  • Commercial mindset with awareness of pricing, resourcing, and profitability
  • Leadership skills with experience coaching junior team members
  • Strong organisational skills and efficiency
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and legal IT systems
