Overview

In this compliance‑focused regional role, you will calculate monthly UK & Ireland biofuel obligations and oversee data and reporting to ensure regulatory adherence. You’ll collaborate with suppliers, operations, and government systems to certify, balance, and claim certificates, supporting the company’s obligation management. The position sits in Canary Wharf within a team that handles biofuel obligations, certificates, and related reporting. You will drive accuracy, timeliness, and ongoing improvements in data workflows that underpin regulatory compliance and trading activities.

Responsibilities

  • Calculate the monthly biofuel obligation for UK & Ireland
  • Track and reconcile product movements and fossil/biofuel content in oil accounting systems
  • Validate and reconcile obligated sales; balance UK and Irish duty returns
  • Compute and confirm supplier biofuel balances with counterparties
  • Identify and resolve data discrepancies with internal/external parties
  • Manage certificate claim processes and balances with Valero verifier sign-off
  • Coordinate certificate transfers, purchases and sales with counterparties
  • Maintain procedures for trading of physical biofuel including Carbon and Sustainability data
  • Review documentation for compliance with ISCC regulations (country of origin, GHG savings)
  • Maintain robust mass balance for refinery biodiesel and ethanol using Valero and other systems
  • Enter claims in external government systems; liaise with verifier for sign-off
  • Meet critical deadlines: monthly volume submissions, quarterly certificate awards, annual GHG reporting
  • Liaise with Biofuel Agencies and Verifier; represent the company at industry/government forums
  • Review contract clauses to protect certificate claims in UK and Ireland

  • PQ/Qualified Accountant
