Overview
In this Senior Manager role, you lead multi-country tax accounting and direct tax engagements, delivering Group Tax Accounting/Reporting under US GAAP and IFRS. You’ll shape tax operating models for multinational clients and drive improvements in how we deliver compliant tax reporting. You work with cross-border teams and senior stakeholders to ensure high-quality, timely outputs aligned with IFRS, US GAAP, and BEPS/OECD guidelines. Responsibilities
- Design and implement tax operating models for multinational clients
- Build and grow strategic client accounts and relationships
- Manage the full scope of tax and finance outsourcing services within Global Direct Tax and Tax Accounting
- Lead preparation and review of interim, quarterly, and year-end tax provisions under IFRS and US GAAP
- Oversee tax reporting deliverables across the Group and reconcile GAAP differences
- Prepare and maintain detailed tax provision memoranda and supporting documentation
- Ensure internal controls and SOX documentation/audit processes are robust
- Lead pursuits and technical discussions on BEPS Pillar Two and OECD GloBE Framework
- Identify and implement process improvements in tax provision and compliance functions
- Coordinate tax account reconciliations and schedules
- Standardize Group Tax Reporting processes for US GAAP, IFRS, and SOX
- Drive continuous improvement through design, control, and operational enhancements
- Mentor staff on ASC 740, IAS 12 and related concepts; lead onshore/offshore teams
- Set engagement strategies and connect clients with EY subject matter experts
- Escalation point for client and internal teams
- Support tax aspects of M&A transactions including purchase accounting
Key requirements
- Deep expertise in US GAAP and/or IFRS tax accounting provisions/projects
- Strong understanding of ASC 740 and IAS 12
- Experience in corporate income tax across multiple jurisdictions
- Proven leadership with cross-border team management
- Excellent communication: simplifying complex topics for diverse audiences
- Ability to distill complex concepts into clear, actionable insights
- Organisational agility and ability to deliver under tight deadlines
- Experience coaching and developing junior staff; fostering growth and engagement
- Problem solving and process improvement mindset
- Ability to manage budgets and deliver quality output
- Accounting or tax qualification (ACA/CA/ACCA/CTA/CPA or equivalent)
- Proactive, business-focused mindset with strong supervisory capabilities
- Good experience with tax accounting packages and strong Excel skills
- Agile to changing client environments and timelines
- Hands-on experience with corporate income tax in any country
