Overview

As a Manager in Deloitte’s Tax & Legal M&A and Funds team, you help shape tax strategies for high-profile transactions and fund structures. You’ll work with cross‑functional peers on the full deal lifecycle, from due diligence to implementation, with a focus on UK and international incentives. You’ll mentor junior colleagues and navigate a dynamic client roster, contributing to a culture that values development and collaboration. This role offers exposure to global funds, complex carried interest structures, and senior client exposure in a leading firm.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine tax strategies across M&A, fund structuring, and incentives for diverse asset classes
  • Advise international and domestic clients including private equity, infrastructure funds, and portfolio companies
  • Provide tax advisory on fund manager structures, carried interest, and co-investment plans
  • Participate in full deal cycle activities: due diligence, tax structuring, SPAs input, and financing documents
  • Oversee post-acquisition implementation of equity/incentive plans and reorganisations
  • Support client business development activities and contribute to client service excellence
  • Mentor and develop junior team members within a collaborative environment
  • Offer flexibility to specialise in either M&A or fund structuring to align with interests

Key requirements

  • Experience in M&A tax advisory, with respect to Employment Related Securities and/or understanding of UK tax legislation on disguised investment management fees and carried interest
  • Exposure to international clients
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality reports
  • Proactive, results-oriented and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and client needs
  • Preferably ACA/CTA or ATT/CTA, or equivalent qualification and experience
