Investment Bank Consumer & Retail Associate

Overview

In this role you will support senior bankers in delivering strategic advisory and capital raising solutions for M&A and related transactions. You will help develop client relationships, identify opportunities, and guide execution to close deals. You will contribute to Citi’s franchise by mentoring analysts and upholding rigorous risk and compliance standards. This is a fast-paced, client-focused role with exposure to high-profile transactions in the consumer, luxury and retail space.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain client relationships; identify opportunities and pitch tailored solutions
• Lead and manage day-to-day transaction execution across M&A and strategic advisory
• Monitor industry trends and company performance to inform client dialogue and ideas
• Leverage IB experience to bolster M&A execution and capital raising
• Contribute to building Citi’s franchise
• Mentor analysts, provide guidance, manage information flow, and share credit/exposure information as appropriate
• Assess risk in business decisions, ensure compliance with laws and internal policies, and escalate control issues

Key requirements

• Previous Investment Banking experience
• Bachelor in Finance
• Master in Business Administration
• Experience evaluating corporate transactions and structures
• Experience creating financial analyses
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Experience assisting with client development
