Overview

As a Test Engineer at Sulzer Leeds, you own complex testing programmes for large-scale rotating equipment and pump packages. You’ll lead test activities, analyse performance data, and collaborate with Engineering, Projects and Production to ensure top-quality results. The role focuses on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement across demanding applications. You join a Centre of Excellence and help shape world-class testing capabilities for critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise allocated test activities through to completion
  • Lead test teams to deliver projects safely, on time and to specification
  • Evaluate test results and communicate findings to cross-functional teams
  • Investigate technical issues and perform fault diagnosis for root cause analysis
  • Support design and development of test rigs and testing processes
  • Monitor equipment reliability and performance to maximise effectiveness
  • Participate in project and assembly review meetings providing technical guidance

Key requirements

  • HNC in Mechanical, Electrical or Plant Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience in manufacturing, engineering, testing or rotating equipment environment
  • Previous experience carrying out or supervising equipment testing
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
  • Continuous improvement mindset and passion for engineering excellence
