Overview
In this role you will lead FP&A analysis for the UK and Continental Europe, translating financial data into actionable insights for stakeholders. You will partner with the Head of FP&A and the EMEA team to ensure accurate, GAAP-aligned reporting and strategic planning. You will own quarterly forecasts, regulatory and statutory reporting, and support European budgeting and strategy. The role combines technical finance work with cross-functional collaboration to drive informed decision-making across Europe.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate financial analysis across all product lines for the UK and Continental Europe in US GAAP and IFRS 17
- Prepare quarterly reporting decks/presentations and assist with Exco reporting
- Act as key contact for local regulatory reporting and regulatory/tax/statutory reporting requirements
- Coordinate annual European plan submissions and quarterly forecasts with Heads of Valuation and regional teams
- Support European budgeting, expense review, headcount, and KPI drivers (ETER)
- Develop strong relationships with UK COS, Valuation heads, and Excos; advise on financial information usage for committees and projects
- Support staff development and participate in talent development as directed by Head of FP&A and Business Partnering
- Contribute to European strategy updates and cross-functional collaboration on reporting and analysis
- Engage with the EMEA Expense Management Team during annual budget submissions
- Tackle ad-hoc reporting and analysis for local, regional, and global financial needs
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
- Chartered Accountant qualification with audit experience (preferred)
- 5+ years post-articles/training experience in a similar team
- Life insurance experience or finance experience within financial services preferred
- Prior team management experience useful
- Reinsurance experience advantageous
