Overview
In this role you drive the timely delivery of lifecycle milestones across design, manufacture, delivery and commissioning within a regulated nuclear engineering context. You will coordinate technical reviews, resolve engineering queries and manage interfaces with multiple stakeholders to keep projects on plan. You’ll escalate safety-critical issues, support risk and change management, and ensure compliance with standards and contractual requirements. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver engineering deliverables, support qualification activities, and promote effective information exchange across the project ecosystem. Responsibilities
- Deliver lifecycle handover points (design > manufacture > delivery > commissioning) and expediting acceptance by stakeholders
- Manage and resolve engineering issues (EQ, EW, open points, design change requests)
- Engage approval bodies when the Safety Case is impacted
- Liaise with all parties in the delivery of works and ensure timely information exchange
- Prioritize queries and issues to discharge resolution efficiently
- Deliver engineering deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders
- Provide engineering support across activities including installation interfaces and timely escalation
- Ensure Technical Acceptance and associated surveillance are delivered
- Support management of Engineering-related risks and opportunities (ARM)
- Ensure design interfaces and supplier feedback are effectively managed
- Support Quality Management Lead in resolving manufacturing NCRs
- Follow-up equipment qualification programmes to expedite engineering issues
Key requirements
- Technical leadership experience in a technically complex environment with strong safety, security and environmental focus, preferably in Nuclear Energy or similar regulated sector
- Awareness of integrated management system and relevant policies, procedures, standards and documents for technical and contractual management
- Significant expertise in a relevant technical discipline
- Proven track record of engaging stakeholders and resolving issues
- Ability to build and maintain effective project team relationships
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, influencing and facilitation skills
- Strong organizational skills and network building capabilities
- Solid numerical/analytical skills
- Knowledge of PWR/EPR design; experience in PWR/EPR construction is an advantage
- Knowledge of EU directives, British Standards, and company standards and procedures
- Degree and chartered status in engineering, construction or related field
- Good knowledge of CDM Regulations
- Project Management knowledge with exposure to either APM Body of Knowledge or PRINCE2
