Assistant Manager – National Security Technology

Overview

In this role you will help clients modernize complex technology estates by blending traditional platforms with cloud and hybrid capabilities. You will work with cross‑functional client teams to clarify problems, design robust architectures, and guide transformation programs. The position focuses on National Security projects within KPMG’s AI & Platform Engineering practice, delivering value through secure, scalable platform solutions. You’ll engage senior technologists, shape propositions, and contribute to security‑driven outcomes that align with client and firm objectives.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on work in a relevant technical domain, delivering defined tasks individually or in teams
• Contribute to roadmaps, implementation strategies, transformation plans, and solution architectures
• Collaborate with both technical and non‑technical colleagues to maximize knowledge sharing
• Build strong relationships with clients and partner organisations across diverse teams
• Engage with senior KPMG staff (Partners, Directors, Senior Managers) for progress updates and insight
• Support development of propositions and assets with a National Security perspective

Key requirements

• Experience on complex technology change engagements
• Experience engaging a broad range of client stakeholders and delivering results
• Exposure to complex architectural solutions on cloud or hybrid environments and integration of new platforms
• Across disciplines: business analysis, systems thinking, solution/technical/data architecture
• Knowledge of traditional platform delivery and modern cloud operating models
• Ability to contribute to operating model design and implementation
• Understanding of major cloud platforms (Azure, GCP) with AWS and on‑premise experience as advantageous
• Experience with AI applications and enterprise AI integration challenges
• Experience in reviews/assessments of platform strategy, roadmaps, data models, cloud integration and migration tools
• Team player with ability to thrive in diverse, multi-disciplinary teams
• Ideally recognised industry qualifications relevant to role and seniority
• Passionate about technology and continuous learning in a consulting environment
