Overview

In this Senior Geotechnical Engineer role, you will advance geotechnical design across diverse projects within Pick Everard’s Environmental discipline. You will work in a collaborative, nationwide team to deliver high-quality desk studies, reports, and designs aligned with EC7 and CD 622. You’ll supervise ground investigations, mentor junior staff, and manage project delivery, budgets, and client relationships. This position offers strong training, professional development, and a path toward Chartered status. You’ll help shape sustainable, resilient built environments through robust geotechnical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Produce desk studies, ground investigation reports, and geotechnical design reports in line with EC7 and CD 622
  • Scope, specify, and supervise ground investigations; undertake Investigation Supervisor role as needed
  • Develop technically robust geotechnical designs for varied projects within codes and best practice
  • Mentor and guide junior team members to support their professional development
  • Manage project delivery, budgets, and ensure timely, within-target performance
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and communicate with project stakeholders

Key requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology and Geotechnics, or Geology with a Master’s in Geotechnics
  • Proven experience in geotechnical design and delivering diverse solutions
  • Strong understanding of UK geological conditions and geotechnical implications
  • Appreciation of construction methodologies and buildability during the construction phase
  • Working knowledge of CDM 2015 and Designer responsibilities
  • Proactive professional development toward ICE or Geological Society Chartered status
