Overview

In this role you support end-to-end management of client incentive agreements, ensuring accurate accounting, forecasting, and timely payments in line with contractual terms and US GAAP. You will work within the Client Incentives Operations function in Global Controllership, collaborating with Commercial, Finance, and Legal to ensure incentives are accurately represented and executed. The role involves close attention to governance, month-end close activities, and driving process improvements. This is a hands-on role at scale in a fast-paced environment with a clear impact on financial accuracy and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Review incentive agreements, amendments, and proposals for feasibility, accounting implications, and policy alignment
  • Set up, maintain, monitor, and actualize incentives in ORMB and related systems ensuring contractual terms reflect accurately
  • Perform incentive actualization: validate volumes, update accruals, analyze variances, support forecasting, and compute true-ups
  • Prepare, review, and process incentive payments per terms, thresholds, and governance controls (SOX)
  • Manage contract lifecycle events: renewals, amendments, waivers, clawbacks, terminations
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close: reconciliations, balance substantiation, flux analysis, accounting support
  • Collaborate with Account Executives, Deal Management, FP&A, Accounting Policy, Legal, and others to resolve queries
  • Maintain documentation and audit trails in line with controls and audit requirements
  • Identify inefficiencies and contribute to automation, standardization, and continuous improvement across CIO
  • Act as SME on incentive operations and interpretation of incentive arrangements

Key requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s or 2+ years with an Advanced degree or 0 years with a PhD (as stated)
  • Experience in financial operations, accounting, controllership, revenue accounting, or related finance function
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Experience translating complex contractual terms into operational and accounting outcomes
  • Understanding of financial controls, SOX, audit standards, and compliance
  • Knowledge of financial reporting concepts and US GAAP (familiarity advantageous)
  • Advanced Excel with data analysis/modelling
  • Experience with ERP/financial systems; ORMB is a strong advantage
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management across Finance, Commercial, Legal, and Operations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferred
  • Ability to apply accounting judgement to evaluate financial implications of contracts
