Software Engineer

Overview

In this role you will design, develop and integrate C++ software for advanced defence-focused systems used across maritime platforms. You’ll work within a growing engineering team, contributing from requirements through testing in an Agile/SCRUM environment. You’ll build back-end and client-server components, GUI elements, and integrate with external systems and sensors, shaping robust software for critical defence applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software solutions in C++
• Design back-end systems, communication layers and client-server apps
• Develop front-end GUIs
• Integrate software with external systems and sensors
• Conduct unit and simulation-based testing
• Operate within an Agile/SCRUM environment

Key requirements

• Strong C++ development experience
• Object-oriented programming and software design experience
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms and design patterns
• Experience with debugging and fault finding
• Understanding of networking and data serialisation
• Database and front-end development experience
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
