Expert Consultant – Healthcare | Safety, Risk & Regulatory

Overview

In this Expert Consultant role, you help leading pharma and medtech clients address regulatory, safety, risk, and compliance challenges. You will shape strategic decisions, design transformation roadmaps, and deliver impact in highly regulated environments. Collaborating with cross-functional teams and BCG Vantage, you contribute to thought leadership and capability building while advancing the Healthcare x Safety, Risk & Regulatory practice. Responsibilities

• Lead strategic engagements in regulatory, risk, compliance, and safety strategy & transformation
• Navigate evolving regulatory requirements to improve organizational performance and resilience
• Partner with teams and experts to develop analyses, recommendations, and roadmaps
• Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and provide expert guidance
• Contribute to intellectual capital through thought leadership, benchmarking, and publications
• Support growth of the Healthcare Risk & Compliance practice through capability building and business development
• Collaborate with a global network to deliver integrated, high-impact solutions

Key requirements

• 5-10 years in management consulting, pharma/medtech, healthcare org, or regulatory authority with healthcare regulatory and safety expertise
• Strong academic record; Bachelor’s required; advanced degree (PharmD, MD, PhD, MBA) preferred
• Deep expertise in GxP, Quality, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Quality, Risk Management
• Track record leading or advising on complex regulatory, quality, safety, or risk initiatives with measurable impact
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to translate regulatory and business challenges into actionable recommendations
• Excellent communication and influencing skills; able to engage specialists, senior stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
• Collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset with interest in thought leadership and growth of the practice
